What’s the best bang for your buck for factory rifles under 3000usd (have not idea on the processs of a custom build so haven’t looked at that route) would be primarily for hunting open plains /rolling hills in Saskatchewan on anything from moose to pronghorn thinking of a 7mm prc ideally but open to options seems like every major hun from Begara to fierce has a thread about how bad they are so kinda getting lost

don't spend that much money on one rifle.

you could get a Ruger American Gen II in 30-06 for around $500ish

And a great scope for around $300

And have about two thousand left over for other stuff.

This is rokslide. The answer is a tikka with an aftermarket stock.
What are options for aftermarket stocks and how easy is it to swap just started to seriously get into shooting and have used gas guns exclusively as well as do tikkas come in 7mm prc

Money isn’t a huge concern if I can find something that looks nice and shoots nicer for cheaper That would be awesome however I do want something that is higher quality just a preference thing I guess

What would be the benefit of element of the over the ph2 and is there anything comparable like waypoint or Christensen arms
Go to their website, think the Element is about a pound lighter at 6# for the long action vs 7# for the PH2

I have two beautiful and accurate Coopers - 30-06 and 25-06. Cut and threaded for cans. But they gather dust as I shoot a Tikka 223 and Sako 6.5cm. Fwiw.

I’m in camp of no need to spend 3k on a rifle. Tikka is a good one. I’d add the howa/vanguard paternal twins are great options too. There’s some good options out there and you won’t have to get a different stock. In howa the Newberg gen 2 or HS are appealing. In weatherby they’ve got some solid choices too. I mentioned these because I’ve never seen any of these not shoot well, and some shoot really well. Some of the browning offerings are appealing too. You can get most of these around $1k, and there’s some pretty good glass in the $500 range and you’re set! Use the remaining $1500 to spend on ammo.

As to caliber, 6.5prc, 7prc, and 280 AI are all good. I’d stick with one of the first two if you don’t reload.

Tikka announced a 7prc earlier this year at SHOT Show. It hasn't appeared yet and the year is running out. But they announced it.

I would avoid Christensen and Fierce as they have QC issues more frequently than they should.

Seekins PH2 if you don't go with a Tikka.

At $3k you’re at semi-custom pricing and the world is your oyster.

GCP in Venice FL
Preece Precision in UT
Masterpiece Arms in GA

All of them will make you a 30+ round sub 1-moa gun.

No factory gun manufacturer will promise you that.
