Looking for some advice for the morning attack on a herd bull

I have been working this valley for a 2 days. I have called in 2 immature bulls and there is 1 bull that always bugles from the same spot but never moves from it.

I am assuming he has the cows and Doesn’t want to leave them. He is bedded on the north side of a large draw near the bottom of it.

Option 1. I can either come in from above while watching the morning thermals until the switch and then move in

Option 2. Come in on the south side like I have been doing and hike down the valley and across and move in from there before the thermals switch

I've had better luck calling elk up hill than down. If you can get on the ridge above the herd I'd work that avenue of attack.

Put him to bed and Wait for the thermals to switch. @Tony Trietch talks about this and I started taking this approach and seem to be having better success getting closer to herd bulls.

Big bulls are hard to call in. Come up with another way of killing him.

I would try to side hill in at his same elevation after he beds. Good luck. Wish I had the same problem to solve tomorrow.

You have more time with the thermals going up...

It would also depend on the cover you can use.
