Hello all, I am looking for 2024 testimonials from groups who went out with Ram Aviation. I am looking at booking a fly out hunt in the next few years and am pretty much between them and the main transporter operating on the north slope. It looks like last year was a bit of a wild one out there in kotz and would love to hear more about that from a Ram customer's POV. Thanks in advance!

Hunted with a group of five. Ram took us in, dropped us off, picked us up a few days late due to weather. Tents were brand new Cabelas guide tents. Two guys in a six man, three guys in an eight man. The gear was fine, food was marginal (Mountain House freeze dried, plenty of coffee, not enough lunch or breakfast - Ram may have shorted us by two guys). Cots were good. We selected our camp sites, set up our tents, packed gear to and from the plane. Ram didn’t discuss where to hunt, Alaska law forbids this. We had several bears visiting us daily but never had a problem with them. Four or five guys killed nice bulls by the third day. I was hunting with a long bow and the terrain was wide open with zero cover and no terrain that enabled me to get close. I could’ve easily killed a few bulls with a rifle and may have been able to get within long compound range.

If I did it again, I’d take my own gear and food or just tell Ram to skip the food and pay for the gear. Like I said the tent, cots and stove were good but none of us were satisfied with the food.

Overall, everyone was satisfied with the experience.

Edit, we hunted in 2023….

Sorry to hear that you had to eat like the rest of us back country hunters!

Had a great experience with Ram in 2021 and booked for 2026. It's hit or miss up there but I do feel Bryan runs a good operation. We brought all our own gear except we rented cots & chairs. Will do the same this next time
