Im currently running the Zamberlan guide 960 GTX boots. Love them for rockier trails/mountain hunts but feel the sole is too stiff for hunts in the pine and oak trees while archery hunting. While hunting this weekend they just felt like bricks on my feet. Im looking for a similar boot as far as waterproofing but with a flexible sole. Need some recommendations.

I’m not 100% certain if they are all less stiff, but some similarly priced options that appear well made include Mammut Trovat (probably the lightest one listed), Meindl Vakuum, Meindl Comfort Fit Hiker, and Hanwag Tatra 2.

For whitetail hunting I always where rubber boots. I like Muck boots. I have the Woodymax for early season and Arctic for the cold late season. When I hunt out west and the mountains I wear leather boots. I have a pair of Meindl Perfekt Hunter boots. Had them for 10 years now.

Kenetrek. Mountain extreme. The best! I wear them pheasant, deer, and elk hunting. Going on 5-6 years and no regrets.

I have the mammut trovats, Crispi valdres, and Lowa Renegades and the trovats are the stiffest and the renegades I wear most every day for work ( construction company ready mix division) and I found that the Crispi valdres are about the perfect combo of attributes albeit a touch narrower than the Lowa.

For deer hunting and pheasant hunting I’m on my 3rd pair of Danner Pronghorns. Comfy and treated me well over the years with no complaints.

For all around western hunting I have had great luck with Hanwag Alaska GTX. A bit hard to find, I think I ordered mine from backcountry.com. I have a set of scarpa charmoz for higher altitude more technical terrain when a need a true mountaineering stiff sole.

Just picked up the caminos for the same reason. In a week we shall see. They feel good in store, will see when they arrive.
