Looking for an Anchorage Local

Hey everyone,
I’m hoping to find someone in the Anchorage area who might be going to the Horn & Hide Auction on March 8, 2026 — or wouldn’t mind going.


There’s a specific set of moose antlers I’m trying to get, and I need someone who can:

• Find and identify the right antlers (I’ll send pics and details)
• Bid on them for me
• Pack them up safely
• Either drop them off at Alaska Air Cargo or hang onto them for a bit until I can arrange pickup

This would save me a trip to Alaska in March, and you’d make some money for helping out. Pretty straightforward.

OP is probably best off saying whether it was DLP, roadkill, or was a sub legal seizure. Not saying it just makes it look like a sub legal seizure that you didn't want to admit to.

I forgot another possibility, which might be the right answer for cmeadors13: Improper retrieval of antlers before completing the recovery of the meat.

Have a friend who shot a sublegal a couple seasons ago. Turned himself in. He went to try and find his antlers at auction and they never showed up.

Sounds like he paid his debt for breaking the law. I learn never kick a man when he is down. You may be looking up at him some day. If he is allowed to buy them, then that is the law. Sounds like some would like to break that law and not let him buy them .

I would never condone wanted waste. Or the breaking of any laws. Do I agree that he should be able to buy them back, IDK but apparently it is legal.
