Looking for a new factory rifle: Your thoughts?

No plan to suppress this one. As I said, would like 22” non-threaded, but I think I’d have to go 24” for a non-threaded barrel. Splitting hairs, I know…
I'd just buy the 24" Superlite and have it cut down. Or the 22" Lite I mentioned. Lite is very nice, unless you really want the fluting.

X-bolt Pro or Mountain Pro will get you a nice carbon fiber stock. There is one on Gunbloker for $1300.
The "speed" and "hell canyon" stuff have plastic stocks.

I have an X Bolt Mountain Pro. It is every bit as smooth as my Tikka T3x. Accurate as well. Plus, he could stretch it out if he needed to. The magazine is better than a Tikka’s as well.

If he doesn't want to thread the barrel, I would recommend the Kimber Hunter and the Winchester Featherweight. Lite and handy. Great actions.

The only factory rifle I'd buy is a Seekins Precision.

I have a Tikka Super Varmint in 6.5 CM that I like very much. Very accurate, Roughtech stock is good, action is typical Tikka. It is, however, on the upper end cost wise. Also, and depending on the type of hunting you’re doing, a bit on the heavy side. If you are going to be trekking long distances, I’d personally look for something a bit lighter. If, however, you’re doing blind or stand hunting with less walking, it would be great.

EO has the stainless Hunter model 6.5CM for $899. It’s just a Superlite in a wooden stock. I bought one in July and sold the stock. You could chop it to 22” as the fluting wouldn’t be affected and it would then look like the Superlite with the 22” barrels.

When tikka makes the roughtech in 6mm creedmoor will be my next get. Until then the 243 in ember suppressed has been my favorite deer gun. Sad to say, even beats out my 270 obsession
