Something to replace a zip up sweatshirt/fleece jacket. It would be an outerwear in temps from 30-50, then possibly a layering garment for colder temps. Wind resistant would be nice too. Needs to have a full zipper, and a hood.
Not wind resistant, but the Arcteryx Atom LT hoody is the best jacket I own due to it's versatility and features. Lightweight, some water resistance, dries quickly. I have three of them.
Patagonia Nano Air Light Hoody is what I'd be after; similar niche to the Atom LT but higher CFM by all accounts. Atom LT is great too for sure, just not as breathable if you want to use it as a cold weather active layer. It will act more similarly to Primaloft One/Gold. A couple more options with Polartec Alpha insulation are the Rab Strata and Alpha Flux. Lots of good stuff on sale right now.
My atom isn’t the least bit wind resistant. Look into the kuiu peloton 240 hoody. Should fill your description to a T. I use mine just as you describe.
