Looking for a mid layer to wear between a merino base layer and a puffy that is warm, high loft, and lightweight. I have a SG Zenith fleece but it is heavier than I would like at 23oz. What other options are out there at a lighter weight?

These are puffy jackets that I am looking to layer under.
From Stone Glacier on the Cirque Lite:
Highly breathable, synthetic, active insulation. Wear as a primary insulation layer in mild conditions or as a mid layer under other insulation or a shell in cold conditions.

Dude, I don't care what the site says. I am telling you, those are the very items I am looking to layer under.

I recently bought a Patagonia capilene fleece hoody. Immediately, I love it. I'm not sure it's what you're looking for, but fills the same idea for me. Lightweight, breathable, warm for it's weight.

By far my favorite piece of clothing is the Sitka Ambient. This year, in early November in WY, I hiked three hours with nothing on as a top except the Ambient and Jetstream vest to see how it would do without base layers. This was in single digit temperatures. I was truly amazed at the temperature regulation and also how it dries out super quick.

Alright buddy, you didn't say that. No way I could have known.

Here's another option. Just trying to be helpful

Another one for the ambient. If you haven’t worn one, try it out. It’s incredibly light, incredibly breathable, and I believe, would fit the high loft criteria.

Sitka Ambient 200! I ordered one a week ago, and have worn it all week. It’s an amazing piece of gear. I found mine in earth tone for $239.

it sounds like this is an all season kit so id go 100 ambient full zip jacket. or summit grid hoodie from mtn hardware I rly like. they also have a 1/4 zip if you don't want a hood
