A buddy of mine is looking to go archery hunting in Idaho in 2019. He has to use a crossbow due to a handicap that does not allow him to pull a standard bow back. Also, schedules only allow for a September hunt so gun season is out. Idaho rules state that a person hunting with a crossbow, even with a disabled permit still cannot use any sight that is either electronic or anything magnified so it obviously leaves out scopes for crossbow sights. Unfortunately that's what pretty much everyone uses on crossbows these days. Does anyone have any ideas on a fiber optic crossbow sight? I've looked and don't see much out there.
Thanks!
Nick

I'd also be interested in hearing anyone's thoughts on the best way to carry a crossbow when backcountry hunting. He went with me to Wyoming a couple years ago and either strapped the crossbow to his pack or used a standard sling that was not very comfortable. Not sure what I'd be looking for but I'm curious to know if anyone has experience using any particular slings that work better than others. The crossbow obviously has to stay cocked when walking around to be ready for a shot.
Thanks!
