I have an eberlestock blue widow. I like it, not love it. It is heavy but when I get it on my back it doesnt seem bad. I use it mostly for hunting white tails in the flat lands and hope to take it to the mountains after mule deer and elk. I cant say anything bad about it other than weight. I can easily hail my Lone Wolf Alpha anywhere with sticks and extra gear which is nice for hunting public. On the rare occasion I hunt from an ATV I can haul all my gear and bow and ride comfortably. Water system is great until its below freezing than the nozzle can freeze up on you but no big deal. I have hauled deer and turkey out with it. No issues there. Now if I was to be hunting off my back often than I would spend the cash and get a much better bag but for an occasional trip out west and daily use here in the flatlands, I feel I made a good choice.

Thats a crazy good deal. Do you feel these are up to par with badlands packs? Thanks for the info guys

Ive had numerous badlands packs over the years and have never been let down by the quality of the packs. However, I would never trust the badlands to carry as well or as comfortable as the Horn Hunter when it comes to heavy loads. Horn Hunter craftsmanship is excellent as well and I've always had great customer service when calling the shop.

I had a Badlands 2200 and did not like it. I only tried on the HH Full Curl in a store and was going to buy one until Kifaru put the T1 on sale.

I second the exo pack - BIG TIME. Rivals the kifaru IMHO and you can pick up at 3500 for around $400. In my book, it is worth the $50 for the way better pack quality and comfort you get into. Have owned badlands, eberlestock, kifaru and exo's ... and the latter two just blow the others out of the water in terms of quality. Badlands were quite comfortable for me, but I have had to send my badlands in multiple times because of the zippers and the stitching coming out. Not what I want in the backcountry.

Im in the same boat. i currently work in oil and i just bought a truck before it tanked so now i have a truck payment and hunting gear since im new to big game hunting. i can probably scrounge up some minimal funding. id love a kifaru but i find it hard to justify getting it now. if i could just use to $400 to get a used kifaru why not just get the mid range pack for $300 and use the rest to spend more time on the mountain or get a packable sleeping bag. i also want to get binos so i dont have to rely on my scope. ive been looking at the slumberjack rail hauler and since many people recommend kelty cache haulers im thinking it is probably the same frame. i honestly just want a good frame a big pack to carry my camp or meat and then a day pack. the cheaper the better but i want it to last me. i dont want to skimp out and find im just miserable packing and elk out of a draw near private when i have to climb all the way back up to the forest road. id like to be near $300 slumberjack rail hauler, kuiu, or i wish i could get into a kifaru for $400 but seems like 350+ for a large frame...im 6'5 would be the budget and then i just got two stuff sacks and compression straps which sounds like a pain and not durable.

What do you guys think about the Tenzing TZ6000? I most likely only need it once and I am very tall. Thanks.
