I've been reading RS for many years, but I've finally decided to commit to coming out west for an antelope hunt. I'm wondering if there would be any benefit to flying out earlier in the year and possibly touching base with landowners for access for the upcoming season, or even just to get a glimpse of the terrain. I don't expect to make it out there for a few years because I will be a non-resident draw, but I did go ahead and purchase my preference point this year to get a head start.

You could pick up a non res license and hunt partridge and quail with no extra permits, while you are scouting out antelope areas.
