Anyone loading the 88 eldm in a 223?

I’m loading them in my 223 AI at 2.55 OAL. Using waters mags right now but just bought two of these mags. Hoping they aren’t as hard to get in and out of the mag well.

I think I’m going this route next year. Found some information on other sites about guys going this route.

Likely going with a .223 Match chamber (.169 freebore) as that seems to be the ticket. Hopefully I’m able to seat them decently with the 2.55” AICS mags.

What kind of velocity with barrel length are they using on the info you found?

Has anyone attempted using just the standard short action like 308 mags in a tikka and tried to 3d print or build extensions for the side lips that will hold a 223 round in better? I just tried a 223 round in one of mine and it's not far off being usable. If I wasn't trying to take a nap before going coyote hunting tonight one of my other rifles might have donated a magazine to the heat gun to see if I can melt it closed a touch 🤣🤣

When I get tired of the 7TCU barrel on my Remage build, or I find another REM with a .223 bolt for as cheap as I bought that donor, I am going to get a 1/7 twist 18” .223 barrel to put on it. I modified the standard Remington 223 mag on that one so that it would accept up to 2.60” rounds on the 7TCU, so loading the 88gr bullets wouldn’t be a problem.
