Couldn’t take it any longer…. Ordered up a New Toelke “Whistler” today. 🤠. Been a while since I shot a trad bow. Looking forward to getting back into it. Talked with Dan today & he got me all squared away. Great guy !!! 👍
Excellent choice. 58 or 60 inch

Got a Whistler this summer, I can't say enough good things about them and I've just about owned or shot them all. This is the best bow that I've ever had! Picture from Saturday evening.

Man, I’ve really changed some things up since I posted a few years ago in this thread lol. I’m down to two bows now: a short Bear TD recurve, and a Hill-style longbow. I like them both for different reasons. Lately, I’ve been gravitating to the Hill bow for three reasons:

1) It’s really pointable and quick to get on target and release fast. In a clutch situation, it seems to just pull through for me and the arrows go generally where I want them from any weird angle I happen to be shooting from.

2) It’s an extremely rugged bow. I beat the snot out of it in the woods, and it won’t twist or break or snag or anything like that. Plus, I can string and unstring it in a pinch without a stringer. I swear I could pull my truck out of the mud with the thing.

3) It just looks and feels cool lol. That’s a dumb reason, but it is really cool to shoot and kill things with.

It certainly has its downsides, as does my recurve, so it just comes down to what I want to shoot in that particular hunt.
