I’m getting ready to send my Backcountry 2.0 action & barrel off to be cut and threaded.

I have the bolt, action screws, trigger assembly, and magazine removed.

I thought the action and barrel would just drop out of the stock. The action and barrel have little to no movement in the stock and will not come out of the stock.

Any suggestions?

Put the stock or barreled action in a vice if you have one. Pull straight up with some force. The action is bedded in the stock at the recoil lug if it like my weatherbys that are in peak 44 stocks, that is what is causing it to be tight after removing screws.

Any update on this? I am having the same issue. It's absolutely ridiculously stuck on there. No way in hell it should ever be that tight.

It feels like its stuck on near the recoil lug area

I was able to get mine removed by simply using enough (a lot) force while pulling up on the barrel and pushing down on the stock.

Once I was to get the barrel to move slightly I was able to rock it up and down until it finally broke free.

I did call Weatherby prior to getting it out and they said there was a small chance that they didn’t put enough release agent on the recoil lug where it was glass bedded to the stock. If that was the case they said I would have to send it to them and they would get it removed for me.
