Long Range Shooting Near Auburn

Good Evening Everyone,

I'm looking for some help with finding a free, legal area to practice long range shooting in the general areas around Auburn CA. I just moved to Rocklin a couple of months ago and I'm itching to start sighting in and shooting 400-500 yards if possible.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!!

Sac Valley in Ione has a public range to 300. They have a range to 1k but you'll need to be shooting with one of the clubs that has access. Fairly easy to do, look at their website for more info. Not sure what their status is currently with the C19 shut downs.

You can shoot to about 375 at Spenceville, but I wouldn’t recommend going on a weekend. First light during the weekday is best. For more than that, you could find a spot in the mountains and shoot.
