Need help! Looking for a long range packable digiscoping Camera. My current camera setup is a Canon A2300 and my phone with scope cam adapter which I love and would like to keep, Easy to switch back and forth. I run it with my Swaro STX with 95mm and 65mm objective. 95mm for scouting and some day hunts depending on terrain. 65mm for packing longer hunts. Looking at the Canon G9X but open to suggestions. My camera knowledge is very limited and any help would be greatly appreciated. My budget would be less than $1000

I have a g9x with a scopecam adapter and am very happy with it. Works particularly well for video. I picked up the camera used, whole setup was well below your budget. The camera definitely has its limitations but it works well for the application. Set up is slower than a phoneskope, but image quality is much better. The guys at scopecam were great to work with. There are a couple of compact options that would get you to a camera with a 1" sensor. Larger then what you have now. That will get you much better images. Sony RX100 Mark 3, Canon G7x. Feel free to give me a call at 516-217-1000
