I've had my assault hand climber for about 10 years. Great stand. They say you're supposed to replace the traction belts every X number of years. I'm still on original belts. Time to replace? If there's no visual damage is there a need? Wondering what others are doing.

I just replaced mine after about 7 years. Still looked to be in perfect condition. I opted for the extra long version to get a little added length. I'm sure they would have been fine for a handful of years more.

There was an issue some years ago with these belts delaminating....might have been 20 years ago, fuzzy on exactly when.

I would take the belt out and test; flexing/twisting to look for signs its cracking or splitting away from the imbedded reinforcing cables inside.

OR you can just follow mnfr recommendations /grin

I replaced mine after 4 years and went with the XL belts. I ain't trying to eff around with my safety when I'm 25 feet up. Cheap insurance.
