Hi all, I am starting the process of developing a load for my 7mm prc with Barnes 168 grain lrx for Alaska Moose. I have a few pounds of h4831sc on hand and was wondering if anyone has had any success with that powder, what kind of velocities you’re seeing, accuracy etc. Thanks!!

I never tried those bullets, but I have had good luck with H4831sc. Accuracy was awesome, but velocity wasnt as fast as others. That is completely fine with me because it is still pushing my bullets plenty fast to get expansion past my comfortable shooting distance. You should have good luck with that powder.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback

I used the new 160 LRX bullet (developed for the 7PRC) and 4831sc to develop a load for an Aoudad hunt last month. I don't have my load data where I am. But I believe the jump the bullet liked was around .03 to .04. Did an OCW and pressure test. My final load was just under the Barnes listed max. Got 3,000fps out of a 22" barrel. 20 shot group was right around 1 MOA with a sub .5 MR.
