Aron has never been busted for anything that I'm aware of just people talking crap. Grey light does the best job of scrubbing all of his stuff and threatening to sue you if you post it. There is another one that doesn't ever get mentioned on here but not sure where on the poaching list shooting a buck from a truck and having it confiscated falls🤷
What do you mean doesn’t get mentioned. I put my own thread up for a year, went on our podcast & It’s still on my Instagram and in my book. I thought the law was you have to be off the road to shoot, didn’t understand both your feet had to be on the ground too. It was my mistake, no ticket issued, because I told the truth. And fish ‘n game only knew about it because I had talked about it openly because I thought that was the law. It was a stupid mistake, but if I thought I was breaking the law, do you think I would’ve talked about it on podcasts and put a chapter about it in my book?

And we’re reviewing this thread right now, if people have accused Aron of poaching with no evidence, you’re making our case why we don’t like these threads…Same thing happened to ElkShape a couple years ago, bunch of people on here accused him of something he hadn’t done. Too easy to sit by the keyboard and throw darts and then hide once the accusations are proved false.

Alwine is one of the best shooters in the world right now.
I have no dog in this fight, but for case of a competitive shooter who wins every match he enters, how would these companies/sponsors not want to sign him?
How many competitive shooters know he poached an animal? Probably less than 5%?
Just for the sake of discussion does this group think these people are completely irredeemable?
I'm no Matt Alwine fan but he was caught and punished. Served his debt to society you would say. Now that his debts are paid and sentence served. Is he supposed to simply have nothing to do with the sports he loves and is very good at for the remainder of his life? If he is so skilled as to be among the best at a particular thing is that supposed to be ignored? Can people not learn and change? Aren't we as a society supposed to forgive on a certain level?

I saw a video of ElkShape riding a dirt bike on what the person filming/confronting him said was a non motorized trail. Just wondering how we know this is true or false? Was this what you’re referring too?

And I’m sorry you keep needing to explain what happened to you, it was an honest mistake and you owned. End of story.

You make a good point, and I like to think myself a person willing to forgive others. The difficult part is we don't know if a person has truly changed after having served their debt to society or served their time, unless perhaps we know them personally. I could get behind supporting a reformed person, but because they chose to tarnish their reputation (or got caught for their choices), my mind goes to the need for proof they've actually changed their ways, not that they simply got smarter about getting away with something. That is a difficult thing to prove to others and puts a lot in the realm of trust. Trust is earned, so it's an uphill climb to get that trust back after deliberate illegal or unethical deeds have been done.

I wish any of these frickin influencers if proven guilty would get lifetime bans in the state they did the crime and reciprical states as well. Along with habitat loss and development they are THE problem with hunting in today’s time. Until all of us make the financial loss significant enough these parasites and pests are going to keep posting and still continue to get sponsored.

It’s gonna be a hard beast to defeat, but at least threads like these can shed some light on companies to try and avoid where we can and maybe just maybe have some impact

You don’t need to be sorry, it was my stupid mistake, but thank you.

Elkshape charged with nothing, end of story

I only referred to it because that was the thread that we decided there’s gonna be a limit to how much TMZ-Enquirer threads we’re gonna put up with. Whether people like it or not, we designed the site to have a little fun, talk about gear, not to be gossip Central.

I think everyone hit pause for a second before posting, I'm tired of things getting locked.

I have been trying to mostly stay out of these now. Keep comments on the rails, no need to post digs on anyone. Let everyone calm down just a bit.
This is good coming from the guy who got the first thread locked talking too much about whether somebody paid full price for suppressors or not. But we still like you and forgive you BG. We all have bad days.

Well said.

Again, Alwine is sponsored because he’s a competitive shooter, not bc he’s a hunter posting content and kills for a living.
Hardly know of the guy, but his case is very easy to state the “why” he still sponsored.
