"Shade tree" job or a job for a pro?

Details. Got a Parker bow for my wife and she needs the youth limbs on it. Currently has adult limbs. I have all the parts and probably the tools to do it as I have a vise, cable press, and every hand tool known to man.

Seems pretty straightforward.

Press, swap piece by piece and limb by limb, reinstall strings and cables and adjust as needed

Not difficult if your cable press has enough range of travel to fully relax the limbs. My Bowmaster press didn’t have enough range of travel to perform a limb swap on a Mathew’s Heli-m, had to use a Synunm instead. Take photos of the string/cable routing and attachment points for reference when you put the bow back together.

Make certain the cams and everything else are the same in that bow for both sets of limbs.

Lot of times its more than just limbs that are making it a "youth" bow.

So, it's a bit of a story, but my buddy who had the youth limbs bought the same bow for his son and did the opposite of what I want to do. He swapped up to adult limbs for his son.

We got the bow with adult limbs for my son and are just swapping down now that my wife wants it.

That was a selling point of the bow. I think Parker was selling the limb swap kit for like $50 which made an early version of the youth bows we're seeing today.

I'm going to look close at it tonight and see what it looks like now that I have everything together and I'm not on call for the night. Crack a beer and have a peek. Worst case, drop it at the bow shop with a couple bills taped to it.

Its been a while since I messed with any Parkers. It might be as easy as swapping limbs, but some bows (older hoyts) its almost calculus to determine what you will end up with cams/limbs. Well, not that hard, there's charts, but just saying. I really can't remember with them.

I have some equipment that came from there when they closed, wasn't but 20-30 miles away.

Start with your bowmaster almost out of thread so you can let it out as far as possible. If it's a first gen with shorter threading it might not do it. I think the later ones had like 6" of threads, earlier versions were more like 3.5-4". Could be mistaken tho.
