As the title says, I'm looking to buy a lightweight rain jacket. I just moved back to the NW and want something lighter than my old Cabelas Gore-Tex jacket. It needs to be light, packable, waterproof and hooded. I don't really need (or want) camo as the jacket will be used for multiple purposes, hunting, hiking, trail running, cycling, goofing off around town, etc. Prefer to purchase from a company that is pro-hunting, First Lite, Kuiu, Sitka, you get the idea. So, what say 'ye?

Kuiu Chugash in Brown is hard to beat.
X2. I love my brown chugach. I used it while packing dall sheep and goats in ak last year. And all year now for a rain jacket while framing houses. Not a leak or tear yet.

I have the first lite stormtight jacket and the kuiu chugach and like the kuiu better. Lighter weight and stretchy feeling. I wore it last Saturday in very heavy rain that was non stop for 7 hours while scouting for bear and it made me want to order the pants which I bought that night at camp online.

I paid 240 for the jacket when kuiu had there last sale by the way.

The Sitka Dewpoint is lighter than the Kuiu if packability is of utmost importance. The Dewpoint is 13.58 oz and comes in lead color.

I picked it over the Chugach which weighs 18.9 oz and it appears the solid color may have been discontinued.

My experience with the customer service depts of both Kuiu and Sitka have been diametrically opposed. Sitka has always responded instantly and sent me replacement whatever w/o question...Kuiu was MIA. You can always find deals on Sitka too, they are a much larger company.

Did some looking around and found the lead colored Sitka Dewpoint on sale at Cabelas for a very good price. Only the size XL was on sale, which I what I normally wear, so I'm hoping it fits right. Should know in a few days! Thanks again for the info.

That is a good deal. Weird that it's only the XL though.

anyone have a review of the Kryptek Poseidon?
I own the Poseidon set. I actually haven't used it yet but it's light and packs down small so it's easy to just throw in the pack in case you need it. I did let my buddy take it on a hunt up in Montana last fall and he used it a couple days and said it worked great. It also seems pretty durable for being so light compared to some that feel like they will rip with every branch you brush up against.
There are some video reviews on Rokslide as well as some on YouTube.
