I use either my ice stabilizers or my crampons over Contractor trash bags wrapped tight around the legs. Works great as long as you don't abuse them in the brush.https://www.amazon.com/STABILicers-Heavy-Duty-Traction-Cleats-XX-Large/dp/B07JQ9N587/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?crid=2GKHNQFUFMZCN&keywords=ice+stabilizers+for+shoes&qid=1682185846&s=books&sprefix=ice+stabil%2Caps%2C228&sr=1-8

Dangit I wish someone would come up with something lightweight for this. Turkey season is coming up and I was gonna buy the Wiggys but now I’m not sold on them.

The one’s I’ve sewn are from whatever coated waterproof ish material is laying around. I’ve even used large stuff sacks or garbage bags. Gaiters seem to work fairly well to hold a lot of bulky baggy material tight to the legs.

I’ve gone away from something that goes over the boot and use stocking foot hip waders and a pair of mostly worn out tennis shoes or worn out boots if there are a lot of streams. These get stashed by the creek for the return trip, so I wouldn’t want to leave expensive boots or waders.

Heavy duty trash bags and a pair of crocs. Boots off, bag on each leg, croc over the foot...pull up the rear bar/4x4 mode.

The crocs are handy for camp later.
