Lightweight, down, roomy bag or quilt….

Have 4 quilts in various temp ratings. Don't think I'll ever go back to a bag. Works for ground sleeping with a pad, but usually I'm in a hammock.

I feel like enlightened equipment isnt mentioned often but cool option. Cottage industry, made USA (pretty sure still is) , mostly quilts but they do have zipper ones . Might be worth a peek but not a bonafide budget option

Take a look at the Sierra Designs Nitro 20 quilt. You won’t find a better value for an 800 fill down quilt.

I’m sure quilt guys will try to disagree but in my experience, camping with people using quilts, they aren’t nearly as warm or as comfortable as me in a high quality down bag.
