I currently use a Sirui T-1205X at about 1.8 lbs for tripod only, throw in the extra weight with a Swarovski DH 101 head. the T-1205X is light but is still bulky. I'm thinking about going to a Sirui T-025X at about a quarter lb less then the one I'm currently running.
Any one out there using something light and/or less bulky?
Other than weight, I'm extremely happy with the T-1205X. It feels a little bulky and long when compacted, but it's extremely solid and tough. Hard to believe that it weighs the same as the Vortex Summit SS.
The Swarovski DH 101 head is something I cannot part with, it's a little on the heavy side, but it's so nice not having to deal with adapter plates and lose screws. It performs like you would expect a swarovski product to perform. Pans and tilts wonderfully and locks in both pan/tilt quickly and easily, just wish it was a bit lighter.
