Does any quality manufacturer make a simple compact 4X scope anymore? I have searched and cannot find anything besides cheap chinese crap or heavy AR combat style scopes. Looking for something sized like current crossbow scopes without the assessories and weight.

I have a CVA Scout that I just had cut and threaded at 16.5 inches. This is a very compact rifle and even a Burris 3-9 looks huge on it. I've even considered a red dot but want something more precise and with better low light performance. Any suggestions?

You're going to have to look on the used market. I've been seeing a few burris compact scopes on eBay and GunBroker the last couple months. That route or a used Leupold 4x33 is about the only option. Nikon had the 3x AR scope with a bdc reticle too, but it's got exposed turrets and is 12 oz.. Nice and short though.

I've came to the same conclusion but thought I ask just in case. I know the market is dominated by target scopes but there is still a place for a simple compact scope. That Burris compact 4x would be perfect if it has a good eyebox etc. I have one of the last Weaver K4's and wish I'd bought more although it is still not a compact scope.

Leupold still makes this in their rimfire line. I have one and it is sweet, wish they still made the 2.5 version. Have both, initially the 2.5 was on my wife's RAR compact, but switched it to my Ruger 44 mag and put the 4x on the rimfire.

I have a Nikon 4x rimfire that I have considered moving off a CZ Scout, but then would need to replace it and be back where I started.

The Redfield 2x7x33 are compact scopes. Don’t know how hard they are to find or how they would do in the drop test. Mine have worked well on .243 and 556

Thanks for input. I think I'm going to grab one of the new Fullfield 2-8. A little chunky, but short and I like that illuminated E3 reticle.
