Lighting?? How much is too much?

Two headlamps for me. One Zebralight H600w and a H502w. Total weight of both with batteries is 5.13 ounces. The H600w has about 700 lumens if need be, so I basically have all the light I could ever need.

One Petzl Tactikka plus, one backup petzl e-lite and a surefire for route finding in blowdown, etc. The surefire is probably not necessary but has been helpful at times.

Wow you are really lighting up the night out there. I bring one 140+ lumen headlamp (Petzl Myo RXP) and a small back-up (Petzl e+LITE). I bring one set of extra AA batteries for my main headlamp too and that about it

Same setup as me... Except I put new batts in it before i leave. I keeps spares in the truck just in case but dont take them with me.

I was in the same boat. I pulled the trigger and I am pretty impressed but I really haven't had it in the field yet. What I do like is it runs on an AA battery so I don't have to keep a bunch of random batteries around. With that said, as I mentioned above, I still like the idea of having the Princeton Tec Remix as a camp light with the red LEDs. Still, looking forward to giving the Zebra a workout.

One headlamp and one flashlight. This year I will be using the zebra light h51fw headlamp and sc52w flashlight. Either can work for a flashlight or headlamp, they back each other up.

A good headlamp really does it all. In the past I always just carried two headlamps. Rayovac has a single aa headlamp that is surprisingly good and cheap too if you need a LW backup.

One headlamp, spare batteries can be pillaged from the GPS or SPOT if needed. I used to carry a small LED flashlight too, then I got to thinking, I have never had a good head lamp fail and if it did the worst consequence is hunkering down for the night where I am.

So I think it sounds like the best plan of attack is to throw in my two headlamps. Keep one at camp and keep one in the pack for the walk back to camp in the dark.

I mostly carry just one headlamp if I'm hunting with a partner. If solo I will through in a backup most of the time.

I used to use a Brunton Glorb LED lantern (AA's also)in camp but saving weight now but it will be in the truck if I camp there as well.

Zebralight H502W and a Petzl e+lite for a backup is all I bring.

A few lithium spares as well.
