Anyone ever use the gear? They have an awesome mission...

Have looked at them, but they seem insanely heavy.
2 person tent at 7+ pounds???
In their own words “FIDO 2 Basic is a lightweight, back-packable 3-season tent”
Specs: packages weight, 7.2#, trail weight 5.9#

If I’m packing that weight it would be a Hilleberg.

They're a local company and I've worked there as a contractor. My boss bought a 2man tent and he absolutely loves it but agrees its heavy. Try the bug spray they make!

I looked at the 1 but got me a tcop which is actually heavier and 4 season ..pretty happy with it.

Have a buddy that really likes the one man version. It’s seen a lot of miles and held up great.

That being said “lightweight” is a relative term and I think their target audience/customer base is more accustomed to “lightweight” issued gear.

Its basically an MSR Hubba made in the U.S. out of heavier materials. The craftsmanship is excellent, and you have to work hard to wreck it.

If you are on a budget and don't mind the minor weight penalty its a great little tent. Used mine on last year's Stone's hunt through some pretty ugly weather.

But i'm old, stubborn and cheap. YMMV.

I have an old Kelty that I use the most for light camping.
I may try a four season, have my son carry it 😉

For a tent my lightest is a rei passage2. Just fly and footprint is very light.

The tcop is a will last thru hell tent for stealth. Good interior size for a 1 man. 2' 9" tall.
