Lighter recoiling elk rifle

You can make the 270 lighter and recoiling less by replacing the wood stock with a glass stock. They flex more and with a decelerator pad, it's better. And in my case, a pound and a quarter lighter, which years later, another 10 ounces went away with a #1 contour Lilja barrel.

My kid can finally hunt elk this year. She's been using her 6.5 Sig Cross (got damn this kid is spoiled!!!).

Thing kicks like a raped mule. On Tuesday her 16.5" 22 creedmoor barrel will be here!

We're in Montana so there's no dumb laws written by Fudds.

And it only takes about 10 min on Rokslide to see how effective a 22 cal bullet can be.

I was looking at a 6 Creed but the 22 beats it out just a tad by impact velocity further out. So if I wasn't in Montana I'd do a 6 Creed.

I finally drew a great rifle elk tag. I'm kind of a weird do. Ha! I love hunting with a longbow but I love accurate long range rifles. I've been running (haha I don't run but that's what the kids say these days) a 6.5 PRC I built. Great gun but I made it for short walks and prairie hunting.

Where I drew my tag is basically straight up. I met the Avery's one Friday night before Memorial Day and Ryan sold me one of his 6 UMs. I despise recoil and this thing is crazy in how much horse power it has but it doesn't have the recoil of my 6.5 PRC!
