I’ve been getting the itch for a 6mm Creed (or possibly 6 ARC). In trying to stave it off I started looking at some of the numbers and it actually seems like there’s too much overlap to justify it. I know this is the internet, always buy another gun, but it looks like:
The 6.5 CM 100 gr ELDVT says 3200 on the box, if I can get 2950 out of my 18” Sig Cross that’s pretty much does exactly what a 6 creed 108 ELDM would do for me. Slightly higher BC on the 6mm (.536 vs .448) but it doesn’t look to be a big issue inside 500. I’m also seeing about 0.4 MOA more wind on the 6.5 with a full 10 mph wind vs the 6 CM/108 ELDM. I would ASSUME the recoil on this would be very similar to a 6 creed?
Without going into the same details the 120 ELDM out of my 6.5 looks to match the 6 ARC very closely in trajectory and wind out to 500. However this time there will be an obvious recoil advantage in favor of the 6 ARC.
However it seems REALLY hard to justify a 6 Creed (or ARC) after crunching these numbers… Any thoughts on any of this or angles I’m missing? Starting to feel like the old, “put the phone down and go shoot” situation.
