It's that time of year and I'm thinking of replacing an older VX-3 3.5-10x40 CDS on my 338 WM. For this rifle, I want to stay 1" tube and on the lighter side.

Don't plan to shoot super far with this rig, 400 yards max is probably where I'm comfortable. Because of the recoil, the more eye relief it has, the better I like it.

I like the look of the Meopta Optika5 2-10x42 and the Maven CRS.1 3-12x40. Any others I should consider?

Doug has a great deal on the Sightron S1 and B&H has a great deal on the Meopta, but it has the Z-Plus reticle that may not work for you.

The Credo 3-9x40 looks interesting. I don’t have any experience with Sightron

Just some Sightron intel. Sightron is owned by Kenko. Kenko is the largest manufacturer of optics in the Philippines. The majority of scopes that are made in the Philippines are produced by Kenko. As Kenko owns Sightron you can look at as Sighton is their child and will absolutely have the best in quality control.
