Lifetime license-Idaho question

Bought a lifetime license and this is my first year “renewing” it. It appears that I have to buy a $12.75 renewal, but there is also an option to validate it.

Do I buy it, validate, or both?

$12.75 is the cost of an annual hunting license, so I would think if you paid for the lifetime you just need to validate it. otherwise you would be paying twice for this year. Maybe give the F&G office a call just to make sure.

They either email them to you, or you pick it up at F&G office. You can't just go anywhere that sells tags.
I've had lifetime fishing and hunting since I was 3.

You do not need to pay anything to renew it. Go to the lifetime license page on the fish and game website and it will walk you through the renewal process.

Ok, thanks. I bought/paid for lifetime license but then see this option on the website. I’ll do some additional looking/call IDFG. My lifetime license is reflected in my online account.

Just FYI, my confusion comes from this option:

Figured it out.

You have to add the lifetime license to your online cart for purchase, but are credited that cost back at checkout so you only pay for game tags.

Not intuitive but it’s the system.
