Sold off most of my leverguns. Had a Win 94 30-30, Marlin 44 mag, and Browning 1886 45-70 full octagonal barrel. What's left is my Marlin 1895 Century Limited III. I took it on my first big game hunt which was a flyout camp Alaska caribou hunt. My handloaded 350gr Hornady did the trick 24 years ago.

I use my modified marlin dark in 45-70 every year as my go to elk calling gun and general bush hunting rifle. Killed my 5x5 bull at 40 yds this year.. the old 45-70 gets it done from 0-200yds every year. I hunt thick timber more often than open country so id say it gets 70% of the shot opportunities of all my rifles.

What are your modifications? This is my dark series 444. Cerakoted, laminate stock and kydex cheek piece, rpp trigger, loading gate, quick lever takedown screw, 1-6 scope and a banish 46 suppressor. Great gun in the timber. 20230217_124356_copy_600x800.jpg

Haven't hunted with it yet, but have several loads dialed in ready to go. Actually haven't found a load this rifle doesn't like.

I have a JM marlin GG with ported barrel, and a “remlin” trapper both .45/70

Really want a Ruger Marlin with the threaded barrel. Prices are a little rich for me.

I took a ton of wood off to slim that fat fore grip and butstock down. Completely stoned the workings, lightened up the hammer spring, modified the trigger sear engagement for a much lighter trigger press. Threaded the huge XS sight to accept std apertures painted the stocks green.

Here's my old man's pre '81 BLR .308 that I learned to deer hunt with, I love that rifle but man is it a tank compared to my carbon stocked Howa Mini 😅

One day when I inherit it, that suppressor is coming straight off as it bananced so much nicer bare barreled with a 1-4x20 scope

Mess of marlins here. Last game taken was years back in Ketchikan small blacktail with 150gn barnes reloads. Last count is probably over 20 levers, marlins with one or two others(blr, savage 99)
