Starting a thread where we can hopefully start capturing information on the new VX6 Gen 2.

I have a source at Leopold saying the turrets are fully redesigned to be more robust and the scope performed flawlessly in updated torture testing. Looking forward to hearing about anyone who gets their hands on one. I may need to pick one up myself and conduct a drop test. If it can pass it would be a great option. Unfortunately I am not optimistic. Now if only they would start offering them in mils.

Can you ask your source for any details on the testing? When I searched previously on this, the most I could find is a YouTube video that briefly shows a front-to-back impact machine, maybe call The Punisher IIRC.

I have a friend who works in their quality department as an engineer.

I believe it was said on a podcast that the Gen 2 uses the same internals as the Mark 5HD.

Looks like they got rid of those poxy grub screws on the turret too good upgrade in its self.

I'm listening to Rifles Only Accuracy Podcast | Rifles Only Accuracy Podcast Season 1 Episode 4 on Podbean, check it out! https://www.podbean.com/ea/pb-xn2qj-fb4367

I'll believe it when form drops it. This is a Leupold guy 4 years ago hyping up their super extreme torture testing and we've all seen how that's worked out.

I use the 3-18x50 version on my hunting rifles and love it. I like have the slightly higher magnification, but at that price I’d buy that one.

Form's eval of that podcast would be good in the meantime I bet. ;)

3-18x44 $2400 22oz Leupold.
2-12x42 $2200 21oz Leupold

No thanks. Plenty of other stuff that you KNOW will work for way less money.

Maven
Trijicon
Schmidt&Bender Klassik
Nightforce

^^^^^ this *^^^^

To each their own I get it. But for the life of me, why in the heck would someone drop $2200-2400 on of all things, a Leupold. The Mark 5’s aren’t bad, yet I still had a parallax on one 💩 out. Brand new. And now we’re gonna spend that much on a VX6. 🤪

You could buy a used ATACR…ok too heavy. An NX8 or NXS. S&B, Trijicon, etc. there’s a long list of great options. Even if weight is the concern.

Anyhow, my loud mouth is done.
