I am trying to decide between 2 spotting scopes and would love to hear everyone’s opinions on the two:
Leupold SX-4 Pro Guide HD 20-60x85
Vs
Athlon Ares G2 20-60x85 UHD
Both will be straight angled.
Mostly want to hear how each preforms in low-light situations. They both look like great options, but any input is appreciated. Thanks!

If I may suggest a 3rd option, same optics as the Athlon but a 25-75x85mm, the Hawke Endurance ED 25-75x85 Spotting Scope. Will cost you less, have 2 touch focus and have 25% more power.
  • Extra-low Dispersion glass for optimum clarity
  • Dielectric Coatings designed to increase light reflectivity
  • Fully Multi-Coated optics to produce sharp images
  • Close focus – see detail from 16.4ft/5m
  • BAK-4 Porro prisms for intense colour and contrast
  • Dual focus knob to achieve ultra fine focusing
  • Body rotation for viewing in virtually any position
  • Stay-on soft scope cover for maximum protection
  • Twist-up eye cup and pull out sunshade
  • Digi-scope compatible for use with your camera

Never looked into these. Thanks for the comment, I’ll look at them!

I spoke to camera land when I was in the market for a spotter and got the athlon g2 15x45 and am very impressed with this scope. Playing around with it during a fire near my house first pic it the normal view of the ridge the second is zoomed in with the spotter needless to say i was pleasantly surprised 1000002977.jpg1000002975.jpg

Thank you for the input! I have been super impressed with Athlon products. What digi scope system was this taken with?

Just ordered my Athlon Ares 15-45x65. Can't wait to try it out and provide some feedback.

The Athlon Ares 65 is by far, the best budget spotter on the market. Not alpha glass, but pretty darn good.
I went with the Athlon and am super impressed. I made the right decision! Their glass seems to be much better than competitors in similar price ranges. I really like the Argos HMR 4-20x50 scope I have from them as well for my .223.

Athlon Ares - great value for the price. We sell a bunch of these and guys love them. The size is fantastic too for packability.
