I've been looking to upgrade my rangefinder this year and have had a few different options on my list. One of them was the sig 4K, 5K, and leupold Rx-5000. I like the pin dropping feature but the thing holding me back on the leupold was that you couldn't put in custom ballistics. Seems like they have launched a new update where you can input new custom ballistics using 4DOF and use Precision Cut Archery on the bow side of the inputs.

Has anybody updated their unit and used these features? Hows the ballistics calculations? I'm currently running StrelokPro and while it works amazing, I would like to have the callouts in my rangefinder vs having to put the range back into my phone. How are you liking them? How does the Leupold do in dropping pins accuracy say on OnX?

I was about to buy a Sig, but the blue tint and worries of battery life have been holding me back. While I don't need a rangefinder that is absolutely clear, I have noticed a giant difference in field of view and glass quality among different models.

I’m interested in the update as well. I’ve had major problems with pinning accuracy. I’ve been beating my head against the wall, first getting no useful help at all from Leupold tech support, then getting conflicting stories from onX. When OnX finally mentioned an update available for the Leupold control app, I had to delete the original app (installed march of 25) and reinstall it because the original had NO provision for updates. The new app is completely different, including having options to use google and Apple Maps. The old one allowed onX only. If I thought the update made pinning more accurate, I’d buy another rx5000 (I got pissed and returned the old one), but no one at Leupold seems knowledgeable enough to get reliable info from.
