Leupold Customer Service and Warranty?

I'm looking at buying a rangefinder from Leupold, this will be the first thing I've ever bought from them. Does anyone have any experience, good or bad, with warranty issues and customer service on their electronics?
 
They seem to have very good customer service. I had a scope with a very tight power ring. I figured it would loosen up over time, but it got worse, to the point where I couldn't turn the ring at all in cold weather.

The scope went back to Leupold for repair, and I had a LR reticle installed at the same time. Had a very pleasant chat with customer service and they made sure to get the scope back to me well in advance of my planned hunt. No charge for the repair and the scope works perfectly now. Based on this experience, I'd give them an A+
 
Check the electronic warranty duration. Most electronic warranties aren't lifetime like scopes and binoculars. Make sure the warranty suits your needs.
 
I bought an open box rangefinder off eBay and used it on a hunt a month after getting it. It wouldn't range properly and had some issues picking up objects beyond 400 yards. I got hosed on the eBay deal because obviously someone returned a defective unit.
I sent it to leupold and two weeks later they sent me a brand new unit no questions asked. They said the sensor was bad.
