They need to get with the times and update all their lineup with sapphire imo. Would boost sales for sure!

Agree. I’ve always loved the profile and history of the turtle series, but was put off by the alu bezel and hardlex crystal.

When I found this one with ceramic bezel, and the sapphire crystal I was beyond thrilled. I’ve thought about having the cyclops removed, but tbh it’s grown on me.

Marathon GSAR with no date and sterile dial is basically the grail for me. Im a simple guy.

This one has been on my wrist 90% of the time since 2014-15. It's the only watch I hunt in. Never take it off unless to wear something else for a couple days. Looks a lot better than it used to as I was in a rush to quickly weld a project last year. I didnt go fetch my long cuff welding gloves and just quickly did the job in my short work gloves. Didn't end well. Had to get a new crystal and bezel as it was melted/plattered pretty good.

I often do. Just usually smart enough to were real welding gloves over it. Only times it comes is sometimes if wrenching on shit if it won’t fit into tight spaces. And sometimes painting shit.

I wore my explorer on 4 deployments to Iraq and countless other countries. Hunting, fishing, Leo job, everything. I’m the same take it off when wrenching if I can’t sneak my hands in.

Besides that I never take my watches off.

Vaer overnighted me another watch, this one’s much better. Gunna run it through its paces, so far I think it’s gunna make the rotation. Hard to beat everything they offer for around 150 bucks with discounts. Will make a fantastic true beater!

Amazing watches both the explorer and pelagos.

I’ve come to terms over the years I much prefer a date haha. Idk how many time I look at my watch for a date and when I wear the explorer I just laugh.

Really hoping at watches and wonders Tudor steps their game up and release a pelagos or bb54 with a date.

If they slim down the black bay pro that would be contender as well. I much prefer 40 mm and under, and this 41mm citizen wears like a true 40. I’m liking it for a dive watch. 11.5 thick so a touch smaller then a pelagos, super comfy and wearable. Very 5 digit Rolex case feel with the bullet proof e168 eco.

I have one explorer left but it’s going in the safe for the boy. He can wear, sell it, whatever but it’s his. I want watches with a date but not a fan of cyclops lol. First world problems.

My beat around watch on a NATO strap is an Explorer II, I've had it for around a decade and it's been worn a ton. I bought an older (2010ish) Sea Dweller a few months ago, went with that over the Submariner because it has the date, but no cyclops. Keeping the steel band on it, it's been a good addition.


To the OP, I'd go with a Seiko if I was looking in that budget.
