So I have a couple nothing special, altho my cheap ass 870 has wacked quite a few turkeys. I don't own an over /under and have wanted one for some time. Have looked around some for one, a superposed was what I wanted. The other day I was at Cabelas in the gun library and spotted a beauty. Turns out it is a Beretta 690 Field III. Held it and fell in love, but damn is it expensive. What is your dream shotgun?

Love my dad's 525 citori field as far as double barrels go. I looked long and hard at every semi auto out there and chose a winchester sx3 a few years ago. I simply love the shotgun, not ever one bit if regret. My dad has since got a beretta a 400, it's nice but I still prefer the sx3. The over under feels great and comes up like a dream, shoots real nice with trap loads but load up some 3" 2 for waterfiwling and it kicks like a mule. Those semi autos really take the sting out of hunting loads both turkey and waterfowl

I hate them, but hard to beat a Benelli. I think I have 5 of them in the safe and a SBE II is the go-to when going bird hunting.

Would rather shoot a well figured Model 12/42 with a solid rib, but heck, that would be too practical.

I have an 870 that has been great for the little bit of bird hunting I do. Couple days of dove, 4 or 5 grouse and rabbit days and I went on my first pheasant hunt last year.

But now I have started shooting sporting clays with my uncle and the pump gun has not been doing it for me. I am now looking at semi autos... right now I am checking out the Weatherby SA-08, Beretta A300 and the Benelli Montfeltro.

I usually reach for the Browning 525 20ga. The old Ithica 37UL 16ga is up their on the list too.

browning superposed, more for nostalgia than a work tool any more. Was my dads trap gun before his ithaca so he let me use the browning for trap , rabbit hunting , deer hunting to kill my largest and first buck. Just sent it to Browning for a complete overhaul, wood and reblueing, all new springs and lube. Should be done sometime in March 2016. Have another in 28ga. in as new condition. One of those buy it once cry once but will have great value when you tire of it.

As to the "want" it'd be a Miroku made Sweet Sixteen that some dude has kept in pristine condition for 25 years so I can shoot the dog shit out of it.

Most all of my shotgunning is waterfowl so I don't use "nice" guns, but more utilitarian pieces. Current gun is a camo sx3 with a carlson ic choke. For the little upland hunting I do I use either of my citori's or the heirloom 1897 16ga.

My benelli sbe 2 is a waterfowl slaying machine! I absolutely love that gun. Rain sleet or snow it never fails. For a pump action though, the 870 is the best one ever made.

Benelli SBE for waterfowl, Benelli Montefeltro for everything else. When we had an evac due to forest fire, the SBE went in the truck right after family photos.

For upland I run a Parker Trojan 16ga SxS I inherited from my grandfather. I have mutual eye dominance and that gun is the only one that has really ever come up right on me and shoots where I point it.

For waterfowl, turkey, and beater use I turn to my tuned up 870. Timney trigger tune kit, heavy magazine spring, and S&J hardware follower. Runs like butter and always goes bang.

Tough to beat my Benelli SBE, it's never failed me. I had a Citori that I liked a lot but traded it for a hunting rifle since I hadn't shot trap in ages and don't see myself shooting a lot of it anytime soon. When that time comes, I imagine an over/under with a beautifully grained stock that I could spend hours staring at. Maybe something like this.

I've had a few shotguns over the years. Started out as a kid with an Ithaca lightweight 12 ga, then in my mid 20's I picked up a Remington 1100 LT20 that was a sweet gun and killed lots of birds. I gave that one to my son for his high school graduation but unfortunately it got stolen about 12 years ago when his house was burglerized. In the early 80's I picked up a Ruger Red Label 20 ga. that I shot for many years and really shot it well. Now days I've been shooting a Benelli SBE II that is a bird killing machine and is super deadly on doves, quail and ducks. My wife liked shooting the Benelli so much, and she kept borrowing it so I had to buy her one so I could have mine back. Also have a Browning 20 ga. semi auto and a Remington 870 tucked away in the gun safe. So many good shotguns out there these days.........

I have a Citori 20 ga. and really like it, but my dream shotgun would have to be a Parker S by S. I wouldn't even know where to begin with model.... any model I suppose.

Husky those are just beautiful. That's what I'm talking about.

Yup, it's definitely on the dream list since their base model probably starts around the same price as a good used diesel pickup. But they sure are pretty to look at.
