I am shocked by the amount of folks that overlook a great pair of socks. I hear about so many wearing Smartwool socks but have yet to try a pair worth a youknowwhat. I have been a big fan of Bridgedale Trekkers or Kenetrek but found a sock that I think is a little better made by Darn Tough. They don't pill as easily, have nice support where needed, very comfy, have nice options with cushioning and have a kick butt guarantee:

I never wear liner socks because I find the don't stay in places well and bunch, have seams in the toes I don't like or too tight on the toes to let them move as needed. I just never found the payoff I guess when wearing good boots that fit well, a good insole and good socks.

What say you?

Been wearing Darn tough socks for the last 2 years best socks ever! Only blister I have got in my Aslolo's came from a sock bunching at my toes.
I was totally excited when I got some new pairs this Christmas. Kinda Ironic getting excited about socks for Christmas lol...

I have wore Smartwools for years. I tried Darn Tough's last year based on discussions on this site. I expect to be wearing the Darn Tough's on my hunting trips for now, or at least until the GIF casts her magic wand. I haven't tried them all like Aron, but I am very comfortable with the DT's.

I haven't tried too many different brands but I am wearing Darn tough right now and really like them and won't be changing anything soon.

Same here. Thought I was set on socks, but after discussions here last year, bought a pair and won't go without them again. Funny, when I bought mine I looked online and didn't see to many places selling them here in MT, now when you look, there's a ton. Words getting around fast.

I used Darn Tough's last year based on advice from folks here on this forum. I have no complaints with them. Prior to them, I was using Kennetrek socks in various weights. Those are quality socks as well. How many folks run liners with their socks? Since going to a of liner and a "heavier" weight sock I've never had any issues with blisters. I use the liner socks from Kennetrek. How about you guys?

No sock liner for Me as well. And i have to take good care of my feet for work. I have been running fits socks for about a year and half
no more smart.... And wigwhatevers for me

I've been using Lorpen Merino socks for the past few years and have been happy. This winter I was sent a pair of the new First Lite compression socks and these things are amazing. Granted I got them for free but they are the best I've tried. Might favorite part about them is how they have what I would call "footmapping" construction. In the area on the top of your foot they have almost a perforated merino that really keeps your feet from overheating and they dry out quicker than anything else too. I've been wearing them a lot more than I should even in hot 80*+ weather and leather boots because they are that comfortable. Definitely going to be getting more of them.

PhD For Me. Far Preferred To Darn Tough. More Comfortable And Less Clammy. More Merino.

I use various Smartwool socks for different weather conditions. I do use a sock liner though. I have some over the calf liners from Cabelas, and they are awesome. Nerver have to worry about slipping. I will say that after three or four days on a backpack trip those suckers get Extra Crisppy. Good thing they don't weigh to much or take up space.

Anything merino works great for me. I like my darn toughs a lot but the kirkland brands work just as well (for me) at a fraction the price. Granted my feet seem to be pretty tolerant and not nearly as susceptible to blisters as many it seems so YMMV
