Action looks great.
Action is sweet. Super smooth. Cuts are nicely done.

It almost looks like there was enough diameter at the end of the barrel to thread it 5/8"x24 to start?

I've always has good luck with UM customer service so I'd be curious what they say.

Good luck!

The diameter is .673 right before the adapter, which I’ve seen @Formidilosus show 5/8x24 threads on a barrel diameter of less than that with a direct mount suppressor.

Maybe the right call is to send it back to them, have it cut back an inch and thread 5/8 & cerakoted

I think I might send mine in this spring. Really like that. I have a 6.5cm and a 243 at a gunsmith now getting threaded. I have to pony up some money for a suppressor now.

I just received my Tikka 223 from Unknown Munitions. On the order form I requested cut to 18” and threaded 1/2x28 with an adapter to 5/8x24. This is how it showed up. Anyone see this before? It’s quite ugly in my opinion. I would have hoped it would have matched the profile of the barrel and not leave a sharp edge & gap like shown.

It looks...utilitarian. Hallco Precision in the valley can take care of you if you're not looking to send back. Mr. Robert Hall @ 205-0090. He can get a nice blended adapter set up for you.

She looks ok but I'm still trying to figure out what she likes to eat... from Trophy Copper, ELD-X, LRX, Federal Fusion, and Terminal Ascent, best 10rd group is still 1.75". All I can do is play with action screw torque and keep trying new bullets, I suppose. I've cleared the speed bumps and free floated, I've degreased and re-torqued. Only thing I haven't done is pillars and/or spot bedding, but I don't want to get crazy since I'm going to grab a RokStock as soon as they're available again.

i have a T3 Varmint in .223 that does 0.70" 10rd groups, so I know I can shoot better than 1.75" but DAMN this is getting expensive and frustrating. 2025 will be the year of figuring out the 7mm... The next "big" change will be chop and thread at 20" for TBAC Ultra 7, bank account willing.

Edit to add: The Red Card is only as good if it is actually implemented. If this had been done, the employee would have realized that the barrel should have been cerakoted and that the ugliest finished barrel device ever was unacceptable, before shipping all the way to Alaska.

Wow. I don’t know how anyone could find that adapter acceptable.

Test fit, just because I couldn’t help myself, before the gun goes back to UM. 9 lbs even with the Scythe-Ti, Adjustable Butt Pad, Rubber Grip, Poly Mag, UM Rings and RS 1.2.

This is the 223 action, however the 22 CM is going to be an identical clone.

I think I have a silencer central 1/2-5/8 adapter around here somewhere, I just need to find it. If you want it, it’s yours.

It won’t spare you from UMs machining issues but it would save you from sending the thing back.

Target is three shots fired at a 100 yds this last Monday.
Berger 215. Reloader 26.
Going to play with that combo some more.
Which cheek riser is that?

First time out with the UM Tikka 223 in the HNT 26. Didn’t have a cleaning jag to swab out the brand new barrel of machining oil.
Decided just to send it.

After a quick bore site at 50, then an adjust at 100, I fired 10 continuous rounds from prone with the AB Raptor 8 on the end.

Then I swapped it out for the Scythe-Ti , as the mirage was too bad to see with the AB, and fired 10 more at the same point. The 20 round group result is below.

Global Ordinance 55g Sierra Blitzking’s.

Just got my Tikka 7mm rem mag finished up. Specs are as follows:

Mesa Precision Arms Stock (Westen Slope color)
Proof Research barrel
MTN Tactical magazine and bottom metal and bolt knob.
TI pro 3 muzzle break blended
Hawkins UL rings with offset bubble
Trijicon tenmile 3-18 mil
Atlas Tall CAL, with two screw clamp.

All put together at mesa precision arms and cerakoted by them as well.

Weighs 9lbs 11oz empty and 9lbs 14 ounces with shells.
Does this have the Tikka factory magazine or the Tikka CTR magazine inlet?

Just got a Stockys VG2 vertical grip stock in. This painted one has much improved grip over the really slick naked carbon one I had previously. Spent a little time this weekend inletting the stock for a Grayboe CTR AICS dbm. Sits a wee bit proud , but I don't care. I'll take this over the factory dbm every day.

For those interested, this is a 22" 6mm creed, with a dupe of the factory barrel.
How difficult was it to inlet the stock for the CTR bottom metal?
