You could call it his opinion that Lee is a terrible gunsmith but the fact his rifle has had so many problems make it more of a fact “in my opinion”! I have a OMR rifle as well and basically have the same issues. Yes you can order a prefit and it shoots good but that speaks nothing to his gunsmith issues. I have taken my rifle to a real gunsmith for the second time to fix problems. Currently I am seeing if the chambering can be smoothed out because I was having issues with extraction of my spent cartridges after a few times fired brass. Crazy how rough it was after simply shinning a light down it. Last word but after looking into it there seems to be a bunch of issues with OMR rifles like Ucsdryder is having.
And thats exactly why I own 3 tikka rifles, simple gunsmithing issues, fairly simple rifle, install my own prefits and never need to take it to a gunsmith.

7mm08 superlite, painted stock, vertical tikka grip, Kydex cheek riser, Spartan pro hunt bipod. Vortex viper 4-16x44 as shown, since taken off.

Currently I have the gun stripped down, Lumley pillar kit and some probed on the way to bed the action, widened forend, and a trijicon accupoint 3-9x40 with lower rings going on.

New member/long time lurker here and a new Tikka owner. Own a few other name brand rifles (Savage, Browning, Ruger) but never a Tikka. Felt a few/know some people with Tikkas and all have super smooth actions/say good things about them. That being said, I knew Tikka makes great rifles and after reading through all 89 pages within 5 months, I had a few things planned and Sportsman finally had the rifle in stock that I've been eying. I picked up a T3x Superlite chambered in 300WSM back in January or February but haven't got to shoot it yet. Been at the gunsmith for a few months to get a few things done to it. While I was waiting, I picked up another Tikka because of this forum, a 308 Veil K2.

308-Nothing custom really.

No current photos sorry. Been busy with life. New dad, new career and 6 new firearms to shoot but no time. 2 of those are Tikkas 🙂 I'll update photos whenever I get out.

And sorry for the long post!

Life is good 👍

How stupid does the factory barrel look in a stock cut for a carbon barrel? Anybody have any pictures?
It looks like you think. More float is more better.

Last few stocks I ordered big, so I never have to worry about it. Currently have my 223 factory barrel in a channel cut for an m24. Function over fashion, tight to barrel stocks can go away anytime now.

You can find a picture of the rifle back somewhere in this thread.

Best of all, the carbon is in the barrel where it belongs, not on the outside.......

I recently ordered a 280ai barrel for a Tikka(that I’ll post when it gets here) and yeah, I couldn’t see spending the extra cash for what, at least in my opinion and research, is a cosmetic feature more than its functional.
