Bet it shoots I did a 300wm in a mesa stock, had to start shooting 5 shot groups developing a load for it, one of the least picky barrels I've owned, only downside is I want to do another one in 22creed

Good looking gun gary, hows that bottom metal working for you? I've been debating trying one for my 300wm but the way it shoots I just don't know if it's worth messing with it toIMG_20201127_154459572~2.jpg be able to load longer, I'm getting less then half in groups consistently pushing a 200gr eld-x at 2994fps, but I do really dislike the plastic mags that are like $60 bucks a piece lol

I’m running my SAUM as long action so I don’t have any issues with cartridge length. The bottom metal fit and finish was fantastic in my stock no extra Inletting required. Bottom metal is very well made. I don’t know how how the factory plastic mags work with it. I never tried them but with the mountain tactical mags they lock up solid with zero movement. Both are worth the money IMO

Some beautiful Tikka’s

I’m just starting out on my build for a long range shooting for fun but I’d also like to hunt with. I’m strictly a Bowhunter now so this is new to me.

I’m a big fan of the Tikkas and thought i wanted the T3A TAC A1 rifle in a creedmoor 6.5 my I’m thinking a 308 would be better for big game.

Where should I start in list of importance on a custom Tikka?

The Tac-a1 is set up as a plug and play solution, so if you want to build a custom rifle around a tikka action then there are cheaper routes to go. Nothing wrong with the Taca1, if its what you want, 6.5 creedmoor is fine for shooting big game.

I’ve had a T3x chambered in 243 sitting around and decided to have a little fun with it.
AG composites stock
Mtn Tactical bottom metal and rail
Hawkins Precision low mounts and rings
Leupold Mark 5 3.6-18x44 illuminated Tremor 3
Waiting on back ordered bolt knob

where are people sending their bolts to be fluted?

Long Rifles Inc. fluted my bolt. I think it was 8 or 9 days from dropping it in the mail to having my bolt back. Very happy with the fluting and turnaround time.

I sent mine to twisted barrel. Turn around was quick.

Please share who did your barrel and bolt fluting bc that’s just sexy
LRI did their magic. Bolt is wrought iron and barrel is progressive twist. I was going to do the same pattern on the barrel as the bolt, but I really like the progressive twist and it saved more weight
It's a light palma contour and the fluting shed 6oz in chips. The barreled action is 1lbs heavier than stock setup

Do you know if you can get that progressive pattern on the bolt bc I like the crap out of it and I’ve been thinking about sending my bolt to them.

D43D2ED1-7D65-41A8-AAAA-460B0EF57BEB.jpegMore stock than custom, I’d say, but it’s a 6.5 cut to 18.5”. Can is a SiCo Omega 300 using the Area 419 mounting system. Vertical grip should be here this week, too. I also have a 30-06 being cut right now that’ll end up being an exact clone of this.

I was *this* close to picking up an XLR chassis this year but have postponed those plans considering I’m paying for a wedding in a few months.

There are some sweet rattle can jobs on this thread that I’m envious about, but don’t trust myself!
