Let’s hear everyone’s top pick for states or provinces to live for big game hunting opportunities

Heck if I know. I'm not an accountant, or interested in playing that game. I've got other priorities too. Lol

I'm just pointing out that a new, expensive truck isn't always just the burning pile of cash it seems like.

It can be justified on a business level. A boat or plane can't.
You sure act like you know 🤣. It’s obvious you don’t. Very few people are writing off 80k trucks and you likely don’t know any of them 😀

I am going out on a limb here but I'd guess the vast majority of trucks do not get written off.

1. F1/2/350s are sold 750k a year. Ram1/2/3500 a similar number. Add to that GMC trucks the less popular truck brands and it very obviously becomes a number far larger than the total number of businesses that could write off a truck [reminder that if you run an ad agency from your garage you can't write off a truck. A real estate agent might if they can argue that they sell to a contractor/rural clientele and want to fit it. But really you need a real business reason for the truck and there aren't that many contractors and landscapers around ...]
2. Surveys suggest that the median truck is loaded with anything in the bed like 1x a year and hauls less than 1x a year
3. Most of the trucks I see have ridiculous 5ft beds.

2 and 3 suggest they aren't used for real business purposes, 1 suggests there are way too many to be used by businesses.

You can't deduct a $20k truck.

I know plenty of people who buy a new $80k truck every 2-3 years because it's wash with taxes, and they drive something nice and new with a warranty.
As individuals? Please explain. Not that I would ever pay the retarded price for a new truck but I’m curious about this tax deduction.

Born and raised in Wyoming and lived in AK for close to 20 year.

Neither state would make my top 5 of places to move.

If and that is a big IF my choice would be Montana. Been ther 2 times 1 for Mule Deer and Another Pack in Trip for Elk. But those days are behind me unless i can win a large lottery jackpot. But I am good with hunting my home state of Michign. Been Deer hunting here for 45 years... Own a small parcel that gives me what I need.
Good Hunting!!!

Nevada is at, or very near, the top with 8 species of big game animals that can be hunted as a resident. Conversely Nevada is also in last place (or very close to it) of every state as far as a resident’s ability to draw a tag. If you’re a nonresident, forget about it!

1. Alaska 2. Wyoming 3. Montana 4. Idaho
5. Colorado

This list seems about right.

There's R hunts for both of those. Which is more or less OTC.
Bison is the only thing that is truly draw only.
I’ll trust ya. I know that those are two species I have no desire to pursue and my last village was allowed bison tag for special purposes so I could have possibly participated but it’s super rare that the tag is awarded. According to legends. Lol

If you just want to kill "big game" any of the Southern states.
Most western states residents get a deer tag, elk tag and bear tag. Depending on the state you can get 6-10 deer tags

I was going to put Nevada as 5 but ease of getting tags, same thing with Az & NM

I was actually surprised CO cracked his top 5
Colorado has tremendous opportunities, can deer, elk, bear, and antelope hunt every year, still have the biggest elk herd in the world, im a little biased since im from Co, but I thought i have a very fair assessment of what I think the best would be

I agree with you 100%. Sad though, the almost daily battle you guys have to put up with.

I feel like if adventure spot and public big game are your priorities Alaska is #1 and Wyoming is #2 by a long shot.

Other notable top states would be Idaho, Montana and Colorado but those bias opportunity over quality on most hunts.

NM, AZ, NV and UT (somewhat) getting tags is not an every year affair for rifle hunting across multiple species so they are hard to recommend.

If you are a trophy whitetail guy Iowa or Kansas would come to mind.

If you just want to hunt a lot of days and have a lot of tags southern states you can potentially have open seasons from Sept- February with double digit deer tags in your pocket.

I can kill 6 deer in Oklahoma with my basic license.

Archery bear is OTC, with decent public access.

Archery elk and antelope OTC can be had as well.

Yeah :( like I said if we’re the 80’s/ early nineties co would be like #2/3, our giant population and constantly getting crapped on by our progressive liberal overlords really has knocked us down a peg
