Deer Camp

2024 Elk Hunt

Rolled in late and camped under the stars the first night. Woke up early for coffee and glassing before dawn and had a nice layer of frost on us.

Packed 4 miles back and moved the snow from the high side to the low side and stomped out a flat enough spot for a tent.

Two days and three nights later we were back in the cots.

Yup, thanks for asking...my son and I each took one. We didn't get another +60" guy, but took the two biggest that we called to us. Had a great hunt together and brought back meat for family and sharing with friends. I'm still debating if I'll do a write-up in the moose thread.

I already shared in a different thread that we caught a Northern Lights show one night with a half-moon rising...
