LEM VS MEAT YOUR MAKER

For the price difference. Meat. And definitely get the foot pedal. Game changer
Never understood the need for a foot pedal. left hand feeds the grinder and right hand keeps the grinder meat tray full. There is no reason to turn off the grinder until the meat lug and meat tray is empty. With these big grinders come big meat trays to boot, the #22 probably hold close to 10 pounds on it's own.

Maybe I'd use a foot pedal if I was stuffing meat bags with the grinder but who has time for that slow operation when I can fill up the 30 pound stuffer and pump out the meat bags.

I have a LEM #8 and #22 dual grind and neither have issues with pork fat and a 3/16" or 1/4" plate. I don't believe I've ever tried an 1/8" plate though. I keep the blades and plates sharp though so I wonder if yours need sharpening?
Bought bread new. Only used 2x. Same issue both times.

I couldn't pass up the sale on the Meat! 1.5hp. It should be a drastic step up from the LEM .5hp we've been using for many years. Thanks for the good recommendations here!

Bought the #8 MEAT! grinder last year during the black Friday sale. Ran 3 or 4 deer through it last year. Just ran about 45 pounds of partially frozen deer/beef brisket through it on Monday. Course grind followed by a mix and medium grind. I've been very happy with it. Not the fastest, but good enough for a few deer/year. Definitely recommend a foot pedal - I just bought a cheap one off of Amazon.

Choose LEM because MEAT would not answer any of my emails when I had questions. My logic was if they would not help me before the sale they dang sure wouldn't help after the sale.
Plus LEM has every accessory I might need.

What am I missing on pricing? When I look at Scheels, MEAT is $789 for the 1HP unit and LEM is $759. Are people just able to get better sales prices on the MEAT?

MEAT 1HP is $650 on their website and they do big sales at least a few times throughout the year. Scheels is not somewhere I'd typically expect a bargain or even the best price unless you plan to have them price match.

I didn’t pay even close to that for my Meat grinder . I got it on one of their sales. And I bought it direct from them, definitely didn’t look at scheels for it.
