Any of you guys own(ed) or used a Leica PRS 5-30x56? I am considering buying this scope as I can get a decent discount. Just curious about the brightness in low light conditions compared to other scopes in it’s price range, reliability, zero retention, etc.

Thank you.

I have a Leica PRS. IMO, it’s the most over looked scope out there. Their lack of reticles is why they are not as popular.
I’d put that glass against everything I own. I own everything shy of a Tangent. But do have a 420 ZCO. The PRS is phenomenal.
I see no difference in low light between it and my Kahles 525.

I haven’t compared the PRS to other high end optics in low light… but in daylight it’s an alpha class scope for sure. I think they would be very popular if it wasn’t for the 6-36 offerings from Vortex, Zeiss, and Element. I have a couple buddies that own the Leica PRS with no reliability issues.

Everyone’s eyes are different… in my opinion The Leica PRS is a tad better than the NF ATACR 7-35, but a tad behind the Vortex RG3 6-36 etc. To my eye the ZCO 4-20 is a little better optically than the PRS but the 4-20 is the most impressive ZCO in my opinion.

Thank you for that. I will have to buy one to try it out. Nowhere that I can think of in Mississippi has any Leica or really any other high end optics in stock. Like yourself, I’ve owned a couple of ZCO’s and ifLeica is even in the same conversation then I have to try one out. The L-Batistic reticle I believe I could live with.

Thanks again.

I agree with your reticle choice but my buddies both have the PRB reticle which is not bad if you’re ok with a tree.
