I watch a lot of Optica Exotica vids on You Tube. That guy is eccentric, funny and obsessed with binoculars.

I am considering Leica Noctovids vs Victory SF/NL Pure. I’m hoping I can find a place locally that has a pair to look through but I like the reviews about the colors and sharpness in the center view. The slight CA and slight fall off at the edges wouldn’t be a big deal to me if the images are what as described.

Anyone own the Noctovids that can speak to their performance in low light and typical hunting scenarios

you're gonna need to get your eyes on them all, it's hard to research this out and figure out which is 'your brand' but you'll do well with any of the top alpha's but one of them is likely going to stand out to to you more than the other 2, sounds like you know what you need to know about them all now....and now you just need to find some way to get then together, and maybe you have to buy one to start and drag it around to some shops or with friends with others to get time behind them and see if you chose wisely ;)

Yep I’ve figured out this is going to be the case although the only place that has all 3 would be Bass Pro in Nashville and I don’t even know if they carry the NL Pure. They have the ELs.

The Leica is an awesome glass but you’re gonna give up a lot of fov to the nl. The NL 42mm’s are next level imo.

like fov is the be all end all criteria? whatever feature sells that's hard enough to explain regarding how much of it is usable, how much of it can you focus on and brain take in? they are all winners, there's depth of field also, how much fore/aft ground is in focus compared to the others? as important as fov as it's essentially 3d fov measure...why isn't that 'a big whoop' marketing term? maybe next year...so end of day...get your eyes into all of them, I can tell you that my 10x32 ultravid hd's have more depth of field than my new geovid 2700 hd-b's and it's a very naturally pleasant comfort bringing those binos to your face many many years now that is hard to explain to people, as said, only so much you can do on paper here before you get your own eyes and brain into these top dog images, you know what to do next...and it's not get hung up on one hot detail of the moment like 'fov', there's way more to it than that and only your brain will tell you which one is for you at this point ;)

Spent time side-by-side comparing all three and there really isn’t a loser in the bunch. They are all superb, but the views, features, build and handling characteristics are unique to each. Most of us try to identify the perfect binocular only to find there really isn‘t one. At this level of top-end offerings from the Big 3 it is mostly about preferences. Would recommend forgetting the spec-sheet, but rather to handle and look through each prior to buying. Some of the strong points for Leica are the fit, finish and build quality, and vivid but very natural colors.

I bought a pair of 8x42 Noctivid this past spring. I've yet to use them hunting. I was impressed by them and then took them to Yellowstone where I could stretch their legs, so to speak. I was even more impressed with them vacationing at Yellowstone. The colors, clarity are really fantastic. Every person that has looked thru them has commented on the clarity. They're really awesome glass that I look forward to using in the field this fall. You might call Doug at Cameraland and see if he's getting any demos in any time soon, that's what I did.

Lastly, Optica Exotica when he was reviewing the Noctivid and was looking at the duck on the water is what lured me to the Leica.

I just ordered 8x42 NL based on availability of the forehead rest and multiple reviews stating the NL is slightly better in low light.
Abilily to legally shoot an hour before sunrise and hour after sunset made me choose the NL. On fields and powerlines, I have binoculars stuck to my head almost constantly for the last 20 minutes of legal shooting time.
