Leica Amplus 1-6x24 vs Trijicon Credo 1-8x28 (or maybe 1-6x24)?

New guy here. Long time shooter, mostly now at the range (and some trapshooting). Age and health has taken its toll, but I still love pulling the trigger.

I was sold on the Trijicon Credo 1-8x28 until I looked thru a Leica. To my eye, it has sharpness and clarity second to none. I will not be climbing any mountains with a rifle strapped to my back (those days are long gone), so the use will be rather modest compared to what some of you are doing. Still, I'm hoping you guys can give me direction. I've spent an embarrassing amount of time searching and reading other posts, and I am just about ready to make a decision (I hope). What do you guys think?

I’ve never used a Leica scope, but I like my Leica binoculars.

I’m a huge Trijicon fan, but always interested in learning about other good options. Looking forward to hearing about their reliability.

Seems as though the Leica bino's are very well thought of, but little info is out there on the rifle scopes. I spent about 30 minutes playing with one and was very impressed with the overall "feel". The scope really seemed to be a well made, precision instrument. And as I said before, the glass was impressive. Hoping some others with experience will jump in...

I have the 3-18 Amplus 6 and so far it's been very impressive, optically excellent and so far dialing reliably.

The 3-18 is on my short list for another rifle of mine. How's the eye relief?

For me it's been a none issue. I have it on a lightweight 7mm-08.

If I can ask...what other scopes did you consider and why did you select the Leica? Have you had an opportunity to look at/view the Leica 1-6x24?

They have the best glass i have ever looked through...especially for the $. They ride on a 308, 300wm, two 300wsm and a 300prc. The eye relief is listed at 3.5 inches on all mine, but I have never even felt one close to my brow, and 2 of those rifles are just a hair over 6 pounds bare. My son has dropped 15 whitetail the last 1.25 seasons with a Leica on carbon fiber stocked x-bolt 308. He shoots better than his old man. 5 yards is the most any of them moved after the shot. Anytime I have spare $, I'm looking for another good deal on a Leica scope.

3 Leica scopes here. They are the clearest I've looked through, and have a very generous eye box.

I had little experience with Leica, other than their binos. So I am at the local shop, and they have the Vortex Razor, Nightforce, Zeiss and in the corner a Leica. I line up all four and begin comparing. I kept on going back to the Leica, as it clearly (to my eye) had the best glass. Unfortunately, I could not include Trijicon in my side by side comparison, as they did not carry the brand.
