Leica 2400 vs 2800?

I think I've committed to Leica for a rangefinder, but trying to figure out if the 2400 would be the one to purchase vs the 2800.

Distance not a factor- 500 yd absolute max; don't need any ballistic data

The one thing, that if I'm understanding it correctly, is that the 2400 to get the angle compensation you have to press the button twice, first push is distance w/o the angle compensation? Is that the same on the 2800?


If I could save a couple hundred of dollars- that's a good thing

I have the 2400. It will always give you both LOS (first - instant) and then horizontal (second - maybe 2 sec) with a single button push.

The 2800.com is the same way, single button press provides LOS and EHR comes 1-2 seconds later

I have the 2400. I replaced a crf 900 I owned for years. Fantastic rangefinders, of all my holy grail searches in optics my rangefinder is the one constant I am totally satisfied with.

Thanks, good to hear! Yeah seems like every thread I read (and there's quite a few!) on rangefinders pointed to Leica first
