Who's shooting Lehigh defense controlled chaos bullets.

The underwood loaded controlled chaos shoots lights out from my 7mm08. Killed a cow elk at 200yds this past November, I put 3 behind the shoulder in about 8 seconds, she tipped over a few seconds later.

Killed several deer with the 145gr Brass chaos out of a .30-06 a few years back. They worked well and killed deer about as quick as one could hope.

I did shoot a bear with the 122gr chaos bullets out of a 6.5 PRC, shot it three times for good measure through the lungs but the first one would have killed it. Entrance hole into the rib cage was 2” diameter due to the fat layer and all three exited even the one that clipped the bottom of the spine on a hard quartering shot.

Nice! What kind of critters, ranges, and results? Are you shooting the underwood loaded 7mm08 as well?

I have seen a handful of deer taken with the now discontinued 122 grain controlled copper chaos out of 6.5 CM's. Inside 500yds they are excellent.

Reviving this thread to see if anybody has any additional terminal performance info on the controlled chaos bullets.

From what I’ve seen they appear to upset easily and do substantial damage when shedding pedals. I’m lead-free curious and it doesn’t appear any of the other offerings (barring the DRT frangible stuff) upset reliably like a lead bullet does.

I’ve been impressed. I’ve killed 3 cow elk with them in the last 3 seasons from 40-340yds. From my suppressed 7mm08 (ruger American) I’ve put 5 shots in a ragged hole at 100yds. At 225, all 3 cores exited the animal shot behind the shoulder. I found a few pedals in the off shoulder and a few in the cavity. At 340, I recovered a core and 2 pedals on the far side of the off shoulder blade after putting a hole through both blades.

Underwood used to load a 175 grain CC in 300 win mag. My wife has used them to kill; a bull at 430 yards (bang flop), a buck 338 yards (bang flop), and cow at 150ish yards (bang flop). I've killed with them; a bull at 200ish yards (bang flop), a buck 650ish yards (bang flop), a buck 150ish yards (bang flop), another buck 200ish yards (bang flop), and a cow at 200ish yards (bang flop).

I have been very impressed with the 175 controlled chaos bullet.

Also my Tikka shot them very well, easily .5 moa.

When I was using that ammo, I didn't have a chronograph, so I never actually measured it. The box said 3100fps and based off of our shooting, that seemed to be pretty accurate. Punching that into strelok gives me about 1850fps at the longest shot of 650.

Unfortunately, I never did a necropsy on any of those animals, so I never saw the actual damage, besides instant death. It's been a couple of years but I dont remember any of them passing through.

Would anyone have reservations about using the Lehigh Controlled Chaos 85gr out of a 6Creed for deer? I’d prefer to be in the 100s to stay heavy for caliber but Lehigh doesn’t off that. I’m looking for a non-lead bullet for states that require it and I’ve had mixed results with Barnes TTSX out of my 308 on deer and antelope.

122gr in a 6.5 PRC exited this bear diagonally so I’d say you are fine.
